Our Grants Ministry program fosters vital, strategic, and impactful initiatives within and beyond the local UMC faith communities of New England and New York. Your support of the Grants Ministry is integral to the ability to continue to support these lifegiving programs in our community.

Donors Like You
Grants are funded with annual gifts received from compassionate individuals and families, as well as designated income from our endowed funds. We put your financial gift to work by investing in local church ministries throughout New England and New York
Local Churches
Local churches and agencies are another essential piece of the puzzle. Responding to God’s call to serve, they create a vision for new or expanded ministries critical to supporting healthy communities.
The Foundation
The Foundation’s Grants Committee oversees, administers, and promotes the Grants Ministry Program. Together, we provide the resources needed to create change and to impact our communities.
Grant Opportunities
Awarded to help fund strategic, vital, creative, and impactful ministries & programs within the New England Annual Conference local faith communities. The application deadline is May 15th of the current year, and will be awarded by July 1st. Each Grant awards up to $5,000.

Through these Engaging Communities (EC) multi-year grants, UMFNE seeks to support missional partnerships (new and established) and the sharing of resources between churches, community partners, and the Foundation to address the most important challenges within a church’s ministry context. These missional challenges could include issues such as the opioid crisis, social justice, climate change, or other community concerns. In this way, the church is empowered to engage as a leading stakeholder in vital community mission.

Rapid Response Application / Fillable PDF Common Budget / Xcel File
Awarded to support “the general charitable purposes” of United Methodist Churches on the South Shore of MA. The application deadline is May 1st of the current year. Grant value up to $6000.
Awarded to support programs that promote and enhance the dignity and welfare of people in unjust circumstances and address underlying systemic inequities and causes of injustice. Application deadline is NOV 15th of the current year. Grant value up to $2500.
