Annual Appeal 2010

Grants & Financial Assistance Ministry

Funds from the Annual Appeal this year will be used in two ways.  First, it will provide funding for our Grants and Financial Assistance Ministry that "fosters strategic initiatives that promote faithful personal and congregational stewardship".  The UMFNE Board has also decided to invest 50% of the 2010 Annual Appeal in the endowment fund that will grow and support grant based ministries in the years ahead.

The success of the Annual Appeal adds an important dimension to the work of the Foundation which excels at leveraging assets to multiply and strengthen local church ministries within the New England Conference.  Support of the Annual Appeal will provide the capacity to directly assist important areas of need and provide a role model for congregations.

Your support of this ministry will:

1. Respond to direct human need with stewardship connections (gifts, debt reduction)

2. Motivate growth in financial giving (training, resources)

3. Provide subsidies to increased access to and affordability of UMFNE services/resources (rebates)

4. Increase access to appropriate ministries or training events by other organizations (scholarships, matching grants)

5. Affirm positive steps, investments or accomplishments (awards)

Ives Family Fund for Camp Mechuwana

In 2008, Cliff and Jane Ives made an initial gift to establish “The Ives Family Fund for Mechuwana" as a permanent endowment. They invite family members and friends to make charitable gifts to this fund as well. Once it reaches $10,000, the fund will provide regular payments to Mechuwana to support its current and future ministries.

"The ministries of Mechuwana have blessed members of the Ives family for four generations.  For 60 years it has been a sacred place for us, as it is for many.  We want to ensure that the blessings we have experienced will continue to touch the lives of children, youth and adults fortunate enough to spend time there."  Cliff & Jane
